B.A.S.I.C.- Body and Spirit Integrated Consciously
Facilitating Change
Neuromuscular Integration and B.A.S.I.C. Bodywork are processes which facilitate change. We are always in a state of change. By intensifying and accelerating the process, we are able to generate and release the energy to bring about those changes which we most desire. For some that might mean freedom from physical or emotional pain, for others it may be an increase in creativity, and others may desire spiritual growth. These things happen in B.A.S.I.C. because we are a unity of body/mind/spirit. By structurally realigning the physical body, the musculoskeletal and nervous systems in particular, the integration we are meant to have is experienced. As a result we are able to work, play, move and think with greater freedom and spontaneity.
Why is B.A.S.I.C. necessary?
The most common deterrent to physical and psychological well being is chronic muscular tension, the result of the stressful conditions of life. When muscular tension has been compounded by physical or emotional trauma, the body compensates, and structural aberrations occur. The resulting lack of structural integrity is experienced as insecurity and/or a general sense of “just not being right.”
As the body is aligned, confidence, self-esteem and openness emerge with a new found balance, agility and erectness. Experience with B.A.S.I.C. has shown that even when physical pain has been a presenting symptom and motive for choosing B.A.S.I.C. most clients claim that the attitudinal, relational, emotional, and spiritual changes which take place are of even greater significance to them than the disappearance or diminishment of pain.
